The Armenian Dram is the official currency of Armenia, introduced in November 1993 after the dissolution of the Soviet Union, replacing the Soviet ruble. The Central Bank of Armenia manages monetary policy. Armenia's economy is largely driven by the services sector, remittances, and mining exports.
